What are Jr. Academy observations?:

Executing our Junior Academy observation sessions will provide the Lonestar SC San Antonio Academy Player Development Directors (PDD) and staff the opportunity to assign players into developmentally appropriate training pools that provide the right environment to further the development of each player.

By appropriately positioning players into pools with players of similar ability, Lonestar SC San Antonio will have the flexibility to provide an environment that will be consistently challenging, competitive, as well as bring a balance of success and failure that will help players develop at a rate suited to them. This is important as players develop at different rates based on numerous factors, some which can be their desire to get better, ability to handle pressure, learning speed, and comprehension.

Why have Observations?:

The developmental environment, we provide for our U7 - U10 players at Lonestar SC San Antonio is a critical part of producing the talent of the future within San Antonio. We evaluate the progress of our players based on individual skill acquisition, decision making and small group understanding.

Wins or losses are factors that should not be evaluated primarily for Academy Players.  This is due to the now widely observed knowledge that too much pressure to win turns young soccer players away from the sport at an alarming rate. To that end, we are constantly working towards changing the landscape of San Antonio youth soccer development and providing the best environment in the city for the long term development of our players

What if my player cannot attend?:

We accept players year round. We will have additional opportunities to explore LSSA, May - August
